New Balance Unveils SuperComp Elite v6 and SuperComp Rebel v1 Performance Running Footwear

KUALA LUMPUR — Global athletic brand New Balance has officially introduced two additions to its high-performance running footwear lineup, unveiling the SuperComp Elite v6 and the SuperComp Rebel v1. Designed as a dual-tier system for endurance athletes, the collection pairs an everyday training shoe with a carbon-plated, race-day marathon model engineered to optimize energy return and speed across training cycles and competitive events. Both models are scheduled for commercial release across Malaysia on August 5, 2026.

Marathon Performance Engineering: SuperComp Elite v6

The flagship SuperComp Elite v6 represents the sixth iteration of New Balance’s marquee road-racing shoe, introducing structural updates aimed at reducing overall weight while enhancing forward propulsion. Designed specifically for full-marathon distance racing, the updated model features a newly formulated Infinion foam platform combined with a redesigned carbon-fiber plate geometry. The revised internal carbon plate increases longitudinal stiffness compared to prior iterations, providing a more rigid leverage point to accelerate toe-off efficiency.

To further lower mass, the upper construction utilizes translucent mesh featuring integrated FantomFit technology. This semi-structured upper provides midfoot lockdown and structural support without adding unnecessary material thickness. The men’s version (size 9.5 D) weighs 190 grams, while the women’s version (size 7 B) weighs 155 grams. The shoe features a stack height profile measuring 40 mm in the heel and 32 mm in the forefoot, resulting in an 8 mm heel-to-toe drop.

The development cycle for the SuperComp Elite v6 incorporated direct design input and field-testing feedback from elite international athletes, including Olympic triathlon medalist and world champion Alex Yee, alongside American marathon record holder Emily Sisson. The shoe will carry a retail price of RM999.

Daily Speed Training Integration: SuperComp Rebel v1

Positioned alongside the race-day flagship, the SuperComp Rebel v1 is engineered to serve as a daily training companion for tempo runs, workout sessions, and routine mileage. The design bridges the gap between everyday neutral trainers and plated racing shoes by incorporating a specialized propulsion plate optimized in shape and flexural rigidity for high-volume workout regimes.

The midsole utilizes Infinion foam cushioning to maintain consistent energy return across repeated training sessions. Midfoot lockdown is handled by a FantomFit upper construction designed to secure the heel and instep during sharp transitions and variable training paces. The men’s model registers a weight of 218 grams, with the women’s iteration weighing 174 grams. The design employs a lower 4 mm offset, featuring a 40 mm heel stack and 36 mm forefoot stack height. The SuperComp Rebel v1 will retail at RM899.
