Bukit Jalil – The upcoming PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2024 is set to be a thrilling spectacle for cycling fans as three top-tier World Teams have confirmed their participation. The inclusion of EF Education Easypost, Astana Qazaqstan, and DSM Firmenich PostNL elevates the prestige of the 28th edition of Malaysia’s premier cycling race.

Organizers, the National Sports Council (NSC), and the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) have expressed their pride in attracting such high-caliber teams, a significant improvement over the previous year’s two World Team participants. Given the impressive performances of these teams at the Tour de France, fans can expect world-class competition on Malaysian roads.
EF Education Easypost, Astana Qazaqstan, and DSM Firmenich PostNL to Compete in LTdL 2024
DSM Firmenich PostNL’s Romain Bardet and Frank van den Broek kicked off the Tour de France with a 1-2 finish, while EF Education Easypost’s Richard Carapaz claimed the overall leader jersey and a stage victory, currently leading the KOM classification. Astana Qazaqstan’s sprint legend, Mark Cavendish, added to the team’s glory with a stage win.
To meet the stringent requirements of Pro Series races outside Europe, LTdL 2024 has also secured the participation of seven Pro Teams. Five of these teams – Polti Kometa, Tudor Pro Cycling, VF Group-Bardiani CSF-Faizane, Equipo Kern Pharma, and Euskaltel-Euskadi – have earned the prestigious “Grand Tour Pro Team” status after being invited to the Giro de Italia and Vuelta Espana 2024.

Local cycling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to cheer on three Malaysian teams – the national team, Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG), and Malaysia Pro Cycling (MPC) – as they compete alongside international cycling stars. A total of 12 national riders will be part of the 22-team peloton.
With a star-studded lineup, LTdL 2024 promises to be a cycling extravaganza that will captivate fans and elevate Malaysia’s standing in the global cycling scene.
