The recently concluded Taipei Cycle 2024, held from March 6th to 9th, lived up to its reputation as a catalyst for the cycling industry’s green revolution. With a record number of international visitors and a focus on innovation and sustainability, the show offered a positive outlook for the future of cycling.

Strong International Presence Fuels Optimism
This year’s event attracted up to 4,000 international visitors from 80 countries, contributing to an optimistic atmosphere. Key buyer countries like Japan, China, the USA, South Korea, and Singapore showcased the global reach of the cycling industry. The additional presence of over 23,000 domestic industry attendees further solidified the show’s importance.
Sustainability Takes Center Stage
Reflecting the industry’s commitment to eco-friendly practices, TAIPEI CYCLE 2024 offered attendees opportunities to connect with prominent brands focused on sustainability. “Green Action” was one of the key themes, alongside Micro Mobility, Startup & Innovation, and Cycling Culture and Lifestyle.

Innovation Ecosystem Flourishes
The “Bike Venture” program, a joint initiative by TAIPEI CYCLE and Anchor Asia, exemplified the show’s dedication to fostering innovation. This program aimed to leverage Taiwan’s rich cycling heritage and technological prowess to create a vibrant innovation ecosystem. With 10 selected startups showcasing their groundbreaking ideas, the Bike Venture Zone attracted significant interest, particularly from investors and technology executives.

Diverse Content Drives Engagement
The exhibition boasted a wider variety of engaging content this year. Companies like reTyre, a Norwegian brand featuring recyclable tires, highlighted the industry’s focus on sustainability and reported a successful debut at the show. Similarly, Japan’s National Cycle Route, promoted at the Japan Pavilion, garnered enthusiastic responses, indicating promising prospects for future cycling tourism opportunities. The newly established E-cycling Pavilion served as a central hub for the exhibition, featuring displays, interactive experiences, and lectures, fostering collaboration between online and offline cycling industry players.
Industry Leaders Express Optimism
Industry veterans like Tyler Anspach, President at SDG Components, praised the show’s success, exceeding expectations despite industry challenges. He emphasized the importance of face-to-face interactions facilitated by the event. Bob Margevicius, Executive Vice President at Specialized, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the show’s energy, innovative spirit, and focus on ESG and sustainability.

Sustainability Forum Gathers Momentum
The “Riding Towards Sustainability Forum,” held on the second day, further solidified the event’s commitment to eco-friendly practices. Featuring prominent speakers from Cycling Industries Europe, Rapha, Accell Group, and the Bicycling Alliance for Sustainability (BAS), the forum attracted over 170 industry professionals.




Looking Ahead: Taipei Cycle 2025
With a focus on innovation and a commitment to sustainability, Taipei Cycle 2024 successfully positioned itself as a driving force for the cycling industry’s green revolution. The event generated a positive outlook for the future, attracting a record number of international visitors and fostering collaboration across the industry. TAIPEI CYCLE 2025 is scheduled for March 26-29 at TaiNEX Halls 1 and 2.
