Bukit Jalil, Malaysia – Astana Qazaqstan Team has announced their star-studded lineup for the upcoming Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2024, with sprint specialist Gleb Syritsa leading the charge. The Russian rider, who has consistently delivered impressive performances in previous editions of the race, aims to secure the coveted Orange Jersey this year.
Syritsa, a seasoned competitor for Astana, has proven his mettle in the LTdL, winning one stage in 2022 and two stages in 2023. The 24-year-old will be supported by a strong team of riders, including Vadim Pronsky, Igor Chzan, Yevgeny Gidich, Anton Kuzmin from Kazakhstan, and German rider Rudiger Selig.
The Astana team is expected to adopt a strategic approach this year, with Selig playing a crucial role as Syritsa’s lead-out man. Selig, a veteran sprinter with a track record of success, will be instrumental in setting up the final sprint for Syritsa in each stage.
In addition to Syritsa’s pursuit of the Orange Jersey, Kuzmin will be aiming for a top position in the General Classification (GC). The 27-year-old Kazakh rider has demonstrated his capabilities in previous races, securing third and fourth places at the Tour of Iran and Tour of Istanbul last year.
However, the path to victory for Syritsa and Selig will not be easy. The flatter routes in this year’s LTdL mean that the competition among the 22 participating teams will likely be decided at the finish line. With the presence of other strong WorldTeams like DSM Firmenich PostNL and EF Education-EasyPost fielding their best riders, the battle for sprint supremacy will be intense.

The LTdL 2024 will consist of an eight-stage race, starting in Langkawi and also featuring stages in Miri and Bintulu, Sarawak. As the riders prepare for the grueling competition, Astana Qazaqstan Team is confident that Syritsa and his teammates have the skills and determination to bring home a victory for the team.
