Phuket, Thailand – The Laguna Phuket Marathon 2025 Presented by Supersports is poised to welcome a significant international contingent for its 19th edition on June 14–15. This year’s event is set to host over 8,000 runners hailing from 50 different countries, solidifying its status as a leading marathon in Thailand and a growing force in global sports tourism.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the Laguna Phuket Marathon 2025 is placing a strong emphasis on sustainability, community wellness, and the promotion of local tourism. This vision is being realized through robust collaborations with the Phuket Provincial Government, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Laguna Phuket, Supersports, and numerous partners from both the public and private sectors.
The AIMS-certified event will once again feature its signature “Run Sunset & Run Sunrise” format, providing participants with the unique experience of racing in both the evening and the morning across the picturesque landscapes of Phuket. The event promises another unforgettable running spectacle in this tropical paradise.
The three-day festival will commence on Friday, June 13, with the vibrant Lifestyle Weekend Night Market at Laguna Grove, offering a taste of local crafts, cuisine, and entertainment for runners, visitors, and the local community.
The races will officially begin on Saturday evening (Run Sunset), June 14, with family-friendly events including the 2K Kids Run, 5K Fun Run, and the 10K Mini Marathon. The headline races – the 21.0975K Half Marathon, the 42.195K Full Marathon, and the Marathon Relay – will take place early Sunday morning (Run Sunrise), June 15.
In a move towards greater inclusivity, race organizers have expanded the age categories for 2025, introducing new prize divisions for runners aged 70 and above in both the Half Marathon and Full Marathon distances.
The scenic racecourse will guide participants through the stunning natural beauty of Phuket, including rubber plantations, pineapple fields, local villages, cultural landmarks, and along its breathtaking beaches. Participants will be well-supported by comprehensive medical, hydration, and safety stations strategically placed along the route.
Continuing its commitment to community impact, the event will incorporate fundraising initiatives to support the Laguna Phuket Foundation and the Children First Fund (CFF). These efforts aim to provide nutritious meals to over 400 orphaned and underprivileged children across four shelters in Phuket province. Runners will have the opportunity to contribute during registration and through various onsite activities.
