KUALA LUMPUR (April 22, 2025) – The overwhelming enthusiasm for the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) continues! Organisers today announced that public registration for the 17th edition of the highly anticipated race has officially closed after reaching full capacity in under four hours. Public registration commenced this morning at 10:00 am, and the speed at which slots were snapped up underscores the event’s immense popularity within the Malaysian running community and beyond.
Prior to today’s public registration, priority registration was open from April 17th for eligible runners, as well as for those wishing to participate through the Run For A Reason (RFAR) charity initiative and the Corporate Challenge. For runners who missed out on securing a general entry, there’s still an opportunity to be part of KLSCM 2025 by registering under the RFAR programme. This allows participants to run for a charitable cause and raise funds for the designated RFAR beneficiaries. Additionally, the Corporate Challenge offers a platform for companies to register teams and compete while also supporting charity.
Hope is not entirely lost for those who didn’t manage to secure a slot during the general registration. Runners are advised to keep an eye out for upcoming promotions that may offer entries. One such opportunity is Standard Chartered Malaysia’s promotion for selected Standard Chartered Priority Banking clients, where they can enjoy a complimentary running slot by making deposits and investments with the bank between April 23rd and May 31st, 2025.

He further added, “The KLSCM has always been a platform for runners of all levels to raise their individual bars, and we wish all participants the best of luck for this year’s race. We believe in helping build champions, and we look forward to seeing many personal bests as runners push themselves to become the champions that they are. KLSCM 2025 is scheduled to take place on October 4th and 5th, 2025. Standard Chartered Malaysia is the title sponsor, with ASICS and Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur (PHKL) as Gold sponsors.
