KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – Coway, the Best Life Solution Company, successfully transformed Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil into a hub of national pride and athletic achievement, as over 11,000 participants took part in the annual Coway Run 2025. Coinciding with Merdeka Day, the event, themed “Power Your Progress,” provided a powerful platform for Malaysians to celebrate well-being and national unity with every stride.
The run has grown to become a highly anticipated event on the Malaysian running calendar, a testament to its unique blend of fitness, patriotism, and community engagement. According to Ryan Jung, Head of Marketing & Product Division of Coway Malaysia, this year’s edition held special meaning. “As we celebrate the 9th year of Coway Run, it is truly rewarding to see this event become something many Malaysians eagerly anticipate each year,” Jung said. “This year’s run is even more meaningful as it coincides with Merdeka Day — a time to honour our shared spirit of unity and resilience as a nation. To commemorate this special occasion, we have also incorporated Merdeka-inspired elements into this year’s medals and charms, making them a meaningful keepsake for our participants.”
The event went beyond a traditional race, offering an immersive experience that highlighted Coway’s latest product innovations. The 5km Fun Run featured a series of interactive obstacles that brought the company’s wellness solutions to life. Participants navigated a mist tunnel representing the Water Purifier, passed through air tunnels with dynamic LED lights and music inspired by the Air Purifier, and tackled a roller tunnel modelled after the Coway BEREX Massage Chair. A foggy, chilled tunnel mimicked the experience of a Coway Air Conditioner, while an inflatable surface challenged runners in the Coway BEREX Smart Mattress zone.
The celebratory atmosphere extended to a vibrant carnival area, where large-scale installations of new Coway innovations, including the Washer Dryer, Coway Villaem III, and the exclusive preview of the Air Matching Filter Programme, were on display. The filter programme, designed for personalisation, comes in four variants—Pet, Allergen, Fine Dust, and Kitchen—and is compatible with Coway’s Storm II and Lombok III air purifiers. The carnival also featured nostalgic and interactive games like Solid Shot, Ball Splash, and Tarik Tali, drawing participants of all ages and providing multiple photo opportunities for memorable snapshots.
A Run for a Cause and for Glory
Coway Run 2025 also championed a meaningful cause. For every ticket purchased, RM10 was donated to the Coway Happy Water Project, a long-standing corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. This project is dedicated to providing continuous access to clean water for underserved communities across Malaysia. By participating, runners not only took a step towards their personal well-being but also contributed to a healthier, more hopeful future for those in need.
Beyond the community-focused fun run, the event was a stage for athletic excellence. The competitive categories saw dedicated runners pushing their limits to claim victory.
In the 21km Malaysian Men’s Open category, Sivaneshwaran Gunasegaran surged ahead of the competition to secure the championship title with an impressive finish time of 1 hour, 13 minutes, and 13 seconds, earning him a cash prize of RM1,000.
Meanwhile, in the 21km Malaysian Women’s Open, Michelle Ng showcased exceptional perseverance and strength, crossing the finish line first with a time of 1 hour, 36 minutes, and 36 seconds to secure the top spot and a cash prize of RM1,000.
The 10km Malaysian Men’s Open saw Azwan bin Bunjing finish confidently in 34 minutes and 55 seconds, taking home a cash prize of RM500. In the 10km Malaysian Women’s Open, Nurul Juliana Shakira AbdulHalim delivered an impressive performance, completing the run in 39 minutes and 5 seconds to win a cash prize of RM500.
