KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Liga X Sdn. Bhd. (Liga X) has announced Zurich Malaysia (Zurich) as the Presenting Partner for the Zurich Liga 7×7 All Stars 2025. This football and lifestyle festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Stadium Bola Sepak Kuala Lumpur. The event is set to feature football matches, alongside live music and various community-focused activities.
The partnership was formally announced at a press conference held at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Attendees included Junior Cho, Country Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Malaysia, and Adam Azman, Director of Liga X. The event also saw the presence of public figures such as Khairy Jamaluddin, former national football player Safee Sali, as well as other professional athletes and influencers.
This collaboration between Zurich and Liga X is structured around a shared objective of utilizing football as a platform. The stated aims include bringing people together, promoting active lifestyles, and contributing to local communities.
Adam Azman, Director of Liga X Sdn. Bhd., acknowledged Zurich Malaysia’s involvement, noting their commitment to community initiatives. He stated that the partnership aims to demonstrate how football can serve as a medium to unite individuals, recognize local figures, and create fan experiences that integrate sport, culture, and community engagement.
Junior Cho, Country CEO of Zurich Malaysia, commented on the nature of football’s role in community building. He suggested that the sport helps foster elements such as trust and resilience. He also stated that the partnership with Liga X is intended to support community development, with a focus on promoting a stronger and healthier community in Malaysia.
The Zurich Liga 7×7 All Stars 2025 is structured to feature four teams. These teams are managed by figures from various sectors and captained by former professional football players. The announced team lineup includes:
- Team Bangsa Bola: Managed by Tan Sri Nazir Razak, with John Terry serving as team captain.
- Team Zurich: Led by Junior Cho, featuring Dimitar Berbatov.
- Team Wizards: Managed by Khairy Jamaluddin, with Ryan Giggs as team captain.
- Team Harimau: Led by Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, with Safee Sali as team captain.
In addition to the football matches, the event plans to offer a range of activities throughout the day for attendees. The schedule is set to commence with a community morning run, organized by Challo Sports Club and Wondermiles. Following the run, various wellness activations are planned.

A Festival Zone will be available, curated in collaboration with Friends of Markas x Pasar Seloka. This zone is expected to feature a selection of artisanal food vendors, musical performances, merchandise stalls, and live entertainment. Tickets for the event are currently available for purchase through the official Liga X website. Additionally, exclusive Meet & Greet passes are expected to be released soon via MOVETIX on the AirAsia MOVE app. These passes will offer fans opportunities to meet the featured football players, including John Terry, Dimitar Berbatov, Ryan Giggs, and Safee Sali, for photo opportunities and autographs. The event aims to be a comprehensive gathering for football enthusiasts and the wider community, combining competitive sport with a range of lifestyle and entertainment options.
