Under Armour Debuts Inaugural 5-on-5 Basketball Competition Celebrating Curry X Bruce Lee Collection

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – February, 2024: Under Armour hosted its first-ever 5-on-5 basketball competition, celebrating the highly anticipated Curry X Bruce Lee collection. Held in collaboration with Hoops Station at UCSI University campus, the event attracted youths and young adults aged 16 to 23, with 40 teams of eight players competing in both male and female categories.

Inspired by “Protect This House,” Under Armour’s motto, the competition encouraged participants to showcase their skills and team spirit while “protecting” their aspirations and dreams. Beyond the competition, it served as a platform to celebrate legendary basketball icon Stephen Curry, a global UA Basketball Ambassador, and his tribute to Bruce Lee through the Curry X Bruce Lee collection.

“We are grateful for the collaboration with Hoops Station and UCSI University,” shared Samantha Lim, Director of Sales of Under Armour Southeast Asia. “Their support has transformed this competition into an unforgettable showcase of talent, sportsmanship, and the unifying power of sports.”

A highlight of the event was the UA Curry 3-point contest, allowing participants to test their skills inspired by Stephen Curry’s remarkable shooting prowess.

Basketball fans can look forward to the Curry X Bruce Lee collection, featuring collectible shoes like the UA Curry 11 ‘Fire,’ ‘Future Dragon,’ and ‘Wind,’ priced at RM699. Additionally, a limited-edition Curry X Bruce Lee Lunar New Year apparel collection will be available at select Under Armour stores, including those at KLCC, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, and Sunway Pyramid.
