TAIPEI, TAIWAN — The landmark sports and fitness event of Asia, Sports and Fitness Taiwan (TaiSPO), is set to officially open its doors from March 25 to 28 at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2. Boasting a legacy that spans over fifty years, this year’s exhibition arrives at a pivotal moment for the industry, centered on the holistic theme “Stay Fit, Stay Well.” As the fitness landscape shifts from traditional weightlifting toward integrated wellness and high-tech recovery, TaiSPO 2026 serves as the premier platform for the latest in R&D and global market trends.
The 2026 edition brings together a massive ecosystem of exhibitors, ranging from heritage fitness equipment manufacturers to rapid-growth sectors such as sports nutrition, recovery technology, and popular ball sports. By bridging the gap between academic innovation and commercial application, the event highlights Taiwan’s growing influence as a global hub for sports technology and sophisticated manufacturing.
Expanding the Horizon of Underwater Aesthetics
One of the most anticipated segments of this year’s show is the return of the diving pavilion, which has seen a significant expansion in scale. Featuring 20 specialized exhibitors and representing more than 70 international brands, the pavilion offers a comprehensive look at the entire diving supply chain. Beyond standard regulators and wetsuits, the focus this year is on underwater photography gear and specialized training programs that treat diving as both a sport and a creative pursuit.

For the first time, the pavilion will feature a dedicated diving pool and a series of “Diving Talks.” These sessions will host leading technical divers and experts sharing their experiences in exploration and safety. Adding a layer of performance art to the trade floor, professional mermaid sports performers and instructors will conduct underwater demonstrations. These displays are designed to showcase the intersection of athletic grace and high-end equipment, offering visitors a tactile look at a niche that is rapidly gaining mainstream traction.
Diversity and Innovation in Sports Technology
A critical component of the TaiSPO 2026 agenda is the “Advancing Sports Equity and Driving Innovation in Sports Technology” forum. Organized by the ASPN Sports Tech Accelerator and the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) under the guidance of the Ministry of Sports, this forum addresses the social and technological shifts within the industry.

By bringing together prominent female leaders, including Liu Po‑Chun and legislator Huang Jie, the forum explores how women’s perspectives are driving new product categories and inclusivity in sports tech. This focus on “Sports Equity” reflects a broader industry trend where design and innovation are no longer one-size-fits-all, but rather tailored to diverse biological and social needs.
Defining the Future of Fitness Management
On March 26, the “Fitness Next” Forum will take center stage to address the evolving business models of the global fitness industry. As the market becomes increasingly saturated, the forum posits that success no longer relies solely on having the newest equipment or the largest space. Instead, the focus has shifted toward creating “high-quality experiences” that foster long-term membership retention.

The morning sessions will analyze global management strategies and the integration of AI-driven sports technology, while the afternoon will pivot to localized business models within the Taiwanese market. These discussions are intended to help facility operators differentiate their brand positioning and transform data-driven insights into a sustainable competitive advantage.
Community Strength and Industry Synergy
The spirit of collaboration extends to the competitive floor with the return of the “Taiwan Strongman 5 AS ONE Challenge” on March 27. The competition features a unique five-member team format consisting of three men and two women. This structure emphasizes collective strength and tactical cooperation over individual performance, mirroring the growing trend of “community-based” fitness that has taken over urban centers globally.

TaiSPO 2026 runs concurrently with Taipei Cycle, creating a massive, unified platform for the international health and wellness industries. The first two days are reserved exclusively for industry professionals, with the final two days opening to the general public. This dual-show approach solidifies Taipei’s role as the definitive destination for procurement and innovation in the global sports market.
