KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Selangor Football Club (Selangor FC) has announced a multi-season strategic partnership with Provident Fiduciaries Berhad (PFB), a Malaysian-regulated trust company. The collaboration, which unites the passion of football with the principles of financial stewardship, is aimed at going beyond conventional sponsorship to nurture future generations through sport, education, and community engagement.
The partnership was officially formalized at PFB’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur in a ceremony graced by His Royal Highness The Crown Prince of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who is also the royal patron of Selangor FC.

This alliance is built on a shared vision to nurture talent and create lasting impact. Selangor FC, under the leadership of His Royal Highness, has developed into a platform for grassroots expansion and youth development. Similarly, PFB is committed to building generational prosperity through purposeful wealth transformation and economic empowerment.
Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of Selangor FC, emphasized the strategic nature of the collaboration. “We are proud to welcome Provident Fiduciary as a key strategic partner of Selangor FC. This partnership represents more than just financial strength — it is a powerful alignment of values, vision, and ambition,” he said. Dr. Johan noted that PFB’s expertise in working with high-net-worth individuals brings invaluable insight to the club, with a shared goal to “elevate Selangor FC beyond the pitch by fostering strong financial stewardship, elite professional standards, and sustainable growth for the long term.“
A Partnership Built on Shared Purpose
For PFB, this collaboration marks a purposeful entry into national sports, aligning with its broader Southeast Asian ambition to shape a future where “capital, community, and purpose move in unison.” Alan Wong, Chief Operating Officer at PFB, highlighted this commitment. “At PFB, we believe in investing in the future—not only financially, but communally. Partnering with Selangor FC allows us to contribute to this goal for a vibrant, empowered Selangor,” he said. “It symbolises our belief that financial institutions can—and must—play a role in strengthening the social fabric of the nation.”

The collaboration will see both organizations co-develop programs focused on three key areas: youth development, community outreach, and fan engagement. Specific initiatives will include the launch of a dedicated PFB corporate box at MBPJ Stadium, curated away-day experiences with club leadership, and annual partner activations.
International Opportunities and Future Growth
A particularly exciting element of the partnership is the potential for international collaboration. As an associate member of Bin Zayed International (BZI), PFB’s affiliation presents a possibility for Selangor FC to explore youth exchange programs and knowledge-sharing opportunities within BZI’s global football ecosystem. This could open doors to deeper collaboration between Malaysia, the Middle East, and Europe, offering invaluable international exposure for the club’s youth talent. This partnership builds on Selangor FC’s recent efforts to forge strategic alliances, which have included collaborations with Daikin Malaysia and the Johawaki Group.
