Kuala Lumpur – Four promising young badminton players have had their lives forever changed after winning an all-expenses-paid trip to witness the Paris 2024 Olympics. The lucky quartet, winners of the recently concluded ‘Road to NCT’ Junior Badminton Championship, were rewarded for their exceptional talent and dedication.
The ‘Road to Paris’ initiative, a partnership between NCT Alliance Berhad and Petaling Badminton Club, aimed to provide a platform for young badminton stars to showcase their skills and contribute to the development of youth in Malaysia. The tournament attracted thousands of participants from across the country, with Muhammad Noor Bin Hanafi and Chong Wan Xin from the under-13 category, as well as Lim Zheng Jie and Teoh Sue Mei from the under-15 category, emerging as the triumphant winners.

Dato’ Sri Yap Ngan Choy, Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director of NCT Alliance Berhad, expressed his delight at the opportunity to reward these young athletes. “The Olympic Games are a testament to the power of sports, inspiring discipline, perseverance, and resilience. We hope that witnessing the Olympics firsthand will ignite a lifelong passion for badminton in these young players,” he said.
The trip to Paris, which took place from July 30 to August 5, 2024, allowed the young players to experience the electrifying atmosphere of the Olympic Games and cheer on the Malaysian athletes. Beyond the sporting events, the trip also offered a unique cultural experience for the young people.
The ‘Road to NCT’ Junior Badminton Championship and ‘Road to Paris’ initiatives are part of NCT Alliance’s commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.
