KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – microLEAP, a Malaysian Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Financing platform, has announced a significant partnership with the FootGolf Association of Malaysia (FGAM). The collaboration, formalized at a signing ceremony and press conference, is aimed at accelerating the growth, accessibility, and reach of FootGolf throughout Malaysia.
This partnership is rooted in a shared vision of fostering community engagement and empowering individuals through accessible platforms. Both organizations align with microLEAP’s core philosophy of “small steps” creating “big impact,” which resonates with FGAM’s mission to promote and expand FootGolf nationwide. This initiative also highlights microLEAP’s commitment to supporting endeavors beyond the financial sector that align with sustainable growth.

Tunku Danny Nasaifuddin Muzaffar, Founder and CEO of microLEAP, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. He stated that the partnership is a natural extension of microLEAP’s mission to facilitate “small steps” that lead to “big impact.” Muzaffar noted that FootGolf, with its blend of skill, strategy, and accessibility, mirrors microLEAP’s values of financial inclusion and innovation. He believes that supporting FGAM will contribute to building a robust platform for the sport, encouraging widespread participation and positively impacting Malaysian sports culture, akin to the shifts seen in alternative fundraising.
The FootGolf Association of Malaysia, established as the sport’s official governing body in the country, has actively promoted FootGolf, which combines elements of football and golf. FGAM’s efforts include organizing tournaments, developing courses, and nurturing a growing community, with the ultimate goal of establishing FootGolf as a mainstream sport. Beyond domestic growth, FGAM is focused on identifying new talent to represent Malaysia at upcoming international competitions.
Malaysia’s national FootGolf team previously achieved a top-10 finish at the 2023 FootGolf World Cup in Orlando, Florida, USA. FGAM aims to surpass this performance at the next FootGolf World Cup, scheduled to be held in Acapulco, Mexico. The association also successfully hosted the FootGolf Asia Cup in 2024, where Malaysia competed against five other nations: Japan, China, South Korea, Australia, and Chinese Taipei. In this event, Malaysia secured first place in the overall Women’s Open category and second place in both the Men’s Open and Men’s Senior categories.

Jeffrey Cottam, Vice President of the FootGolf Association of Malaysia, highlighted the significance of the collaboration with microLEAP. He stated that microLEAP’s commitment to “big impact” from “small steps” strongly aligns with FGAM’s objectives to expand FootGolf across the nation and elevate the national team’s international standing. Cottam emphasized that microLEAP’s support is crucial for expanding leagues, hosting more tournaments, and providing more Malaysians with opportunities to discover and excel in the sport. He envisions a future where FootGolf is accessible to everyone, with microLEAP as a key partner in realizing that vision.

Under this new partnership, microLEAP will provide substantial support for FGAM’s upcoming leagues and tournaments, which were also announced during the ceremony. This collaboration is expected to enhance the overall participant experience, increase media visibility, and drive broader engagement with FootGolf across various communities.
Following the formal signing ceremony, attendees including media representatives, partners, and VIPs were invited to participate in a FootGolf game hosted by national FootGolf players. This provided a firsthand experience of the sport’s appeal and its blend of strategic play with football skills. The event concluded with an interactive session, allowing guests to engage directly with the sport and its practitioners.
