The local running community recently gathered in Kuala Lumpur for a high-intensity display of speed and endurance at the Under Armour UA Velociti Race. Held on 11 April 2026, the event served as a platform for runners to test their limits, inspired by the “No Invitation Needed” philosophy that champions inclusivity and the pursuit of personal bests.
Unlike traditional long-distance marathons, the UA Velociti Race utilized a unique format consisting of a one-mile course divided into four timed laps. Participants were organized into 11 heats based on their estimated performance levels, ensuring a competitive environment that allowed every runner—from elite athletes to casual joggers—to race against peers of similar speeds.

In the men’s category, Poven Kumar delivered a standout performance, clinching the Grand Prize with an impressive finishing time of 4.44.37. He was closely followed by Callum Meehan, who secured second place with a time of 4.48.53. Rounding out the podium was Wai Ching Soh, a familiar name in the local competitive scene, who finished third with a time of 4.50.03.
The women’s podium saw an equally thrilling finish. Dagreat Izzura took home the Grand Prize after clocking in at 5.43.66, narrowly beating out Nurul Juliana Shakira Abdul Halim, who finished just a fraction of a second later at 5.44.00. Magreat Marry secured the third-place spot with a time of 5.47.12.
