PUMA Malaysia’s Inaugural Ultra 6 Tournament Concludes, Spotlighting Local Football Talent

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – PUMA Malaysia, in collaboration with Football Republic, successfully hosted its first-ever PUMA Ultra 6 Tournament this past weekend at Arena Sukan KL. The two-day event, held on August 2 and 3, celebrated the launch of the new PUMA Ultra 6 football boots by bringing together four amateur teams, content creators, and young talents in a high-energy display of speed, skill, and community spirit.

The tournament served as a crucial platform for participants to experience the new Ultra 6 boots firsthand in real match conditions. The boots, engineered for explosive speed and instinctive play, feature an updated engineered mesh upper for “lethal finishing,” a PWRTAPE support frame for stability without compromising agility, and a SPEEDSYSTEM outsole with FastTrax stud design for precision traction.

FC Pirates Crowned Champions

The social tournament featured four established amateur teams: Boss SC, Carabat FC, FC Pirates, and Jom Bola FC. Notably, FC Pirates entered the competition with recent success, having claimed victory in the FAS Foundation League ’25, one of Malaysia’s premier amateur competitions.

Adding to the excitement, each team included a content creator who brought their football skills to the pitch, including @jemichar, @ammaranuwar, @aqilfrhn., and @amaranas. After two days of intense matches, FC Pirates emerged as the champions, securing the title after a dominating performance against Carabat FC in the final match. Their victory was a testament to the explosive speed and agility that the new PUMA Ultra 6 boots are designed to enhance.

In a standout individual performance, Fakhrul Razi from Carabat FC was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP). Fakhrul’s exceptional play was highlighted by his tournament-high nine goals. As the inaugural tournament MVP, he will receive a year’s supply of PUMA football boots, providing him with the opportunity to continue testing the brand’s latest performance innovations on the pitch.

A Focus on Grassroots Development

Beyond the main competition, the event also included a comprehensive football clinic run by The Tekkers Club. Expert coaches worked with 120 participants across two age groups—young kids and young adults under 23—to refine their technique. Participants were able to experience how the Ultra 6’s lightweight design and superior grip enhanced their natural playing ability during drills and small-sided games. The clinic’s second day concluded with a mini tournament, allowing participants to apply their newly acquired skills and compete for prizes from PUMA.
