Kuala Lumpur – The Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), in collaboration with the National Cycling Federation of Malaysia, has announced the route for the 29th edition of Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2025. The prestigious cycling event will take place from 28 September to 5 October 2025, with the National Sports Council continuing as the organizer following the successful hosting of the 28th edition in 2024.
Petronas LTdL 2025 will traverse all 12 states in Peninsular Malaysia, covering a total distance of 1,257.8 kilometers. The race will kick off with Stage 1 in Langkawi, while the final stage will conclude at the iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur. This edition also introduces Padang Besar (Perlis), Medini, and Tangkak (Johor) as new host venues, adding fresh challenges and excitement to the race.
Challenging Climbs and Key Stages
The 2025 route features several challenging climbs, including the Titiwangsa Range (Stage 3) and Fraser’s Hill (Stage 5), which are expected to play a decisive role in determining the overall General Classification (GC) leader. Additionally, the 214.6-kilometer Stage 7 from Melaka to Medini could also prove pivotal in shaping the final standings.

Malaysian Teams Aim for Success
KBS is optimistic about the performance of Malaysian cyclists in Petronas LTdL 2025, with three local teams set to participate: Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG), Malaysia Pro Cycling Team (MPC), and the Malaysian National Team. The ministry hopes to build on the achievements of Nur Aiman Rosli, who claimed the Best Asian Rider jersey in Stages 1 and 2 of the 2024 edition, as well as the Most Combative Rider awards won by Nur Amirul Fakhrudin (Stage 2) and Nor Aiman Zarif (Stage 7).
Corporate Support Crucial for Success
KBS has called for continued support from corporate sponsors to ensure the success of Petronas LTdL 2025. The ministry emphasized the importance of maintaining high organizational standards to uphold the event’s reputation as one of Asia’s premier cycling races.

Petronas LTdL 2025 is categorized as a UCI ProSeries Men Elite event and will consist of eight stages:
- Stage 1: 28 September (Sunday) – Langkawi Round Island – 96.5 km
- Stage 2: 29 September (Monday) – Padang Besar to Kepala Batas – 170.1 km
- Stage 3: 30 September (Tuesday) – Gerik to Pasir Putih – 198.2 km
- Stage 4: 1 October (Wednesday) – Kuala Terengganu to Kemaman – 140.8 km
- Stage 5: 2 October (Thursday) – Temerloh to Fraser’s Hill – 133.7 km
- Stage 6: 3 October (Friday) – Shah Alam to Port Dickson – 123.4 km
- Stage 7: 4 October (Saturday) – Melaka to Medini – 214.6 km
- Stage 8: 5 October (Sunday) – Tangkak to Kuala Lumpur – 180.5 km
