PETALING JAYA, Malaysia – The Spastic Children’s Association of Selangor and Federal Territory (SCAS & FT) is set to hold its 30th annual charity event, the Spastic Fun Run 2025, on Sunday, October 26, at Dataran PJ. This milestone event, presented by title sponsor KDK, invites Malaysians from all walks of life to run, walk, and wheel for a cause that champions inclusivity and raises vital funds for children with cerebral palsy.

The event, which has become a beloved annual tradition, aims to bring together over 4,000 participants, including persons with disabilities, to stand in solidarity for a more inclusive society. The theme for this year’s run is a poignant “Your Contribution = Their Hope,” a direct reminder that every step taken by participants will make a tangible difference in the lives of the children and families supported by the association.
Run, Walk, and Wheel for a Cause
The Spastic Fun Run 2025 is designed to be accessible to everyone, with three categories to choose from:
- 2KM Fun Walk: A wheelchair- and stroller-friendly route that encourages participation from individuals of all abilities and families with young children.
- 5KM Run: A popular distance for casual runners and those looking for a manageable challenge.
- 10KM Run: A more competitive option for seasoned runners seeking to push their limits while supporting a good cause.
All participants who complete their chosen category will receive an exclusive commemorative medal, serving as a proud symbol of their compassion and community spirit. The organizers are also encouraging businesses, CSR teams, and other community groups to join and fundraise collectively, extending the event’s positive impact beyond SCAS & FT to other underserved communities.

Funding Vital Services for Children with Cerebral Palsy
All proceeds from the Fun Run will directly fund the comprehensive services offered by SCAS & FT. Established in 1960, the association is a one-stop center dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with cerebral palsy. Its services include a full rehabilitation suite with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and hydrotherapy. The association also provides essential educational, life skills, and vocational training, and operates a sheltered workshop.

The funds raised from this run are crucial for the continued operation of these programs, which are often provided free of charge to the children and their families. They help to ensure that children with cerebral palsy receive the specialized support they need to develop skills, build confidence, and lead more independent lives. The run is not just a fundraising event; it’s a celebration of perseverance, purpose, and possibility for those who face daily challenges with remarkable strength.
Registration for the 30th Annual Spastic Fun Run 2025 is now open. Early bird rates are available until August 31, with normal registration closing on September 10. The organizers invite everyone to join the movement, support the cause, and help create a future where everyone, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to thrive.
