Young basketball enthusiasts across Malaysia now have an exceptional opportunity to elevate their game as Under Armour, in partnership with EST Jersey, launches its first-ever nationwide youth basketball clinic. Designed to nurture talent and inspire growth, this clinic is open to players aged 8 to 18 and will be held at five strategic locations across the country.
The initiative aims to provide a structured training environment, led by experienced coaches, to help young athletes refine their skills and reach their full potential. Each session promises a blend of fun drills, skill-building activities, and high-energy scrimmages, crafted to challenge and inspire every participant.
Leading the coaching efforts is Tan Ee Shya, the acclaimed National Women’s Basketball Coach for EST Jersey and an Under Armour Ambassador. Her expertise will guide participants through comprehensive training modules covering both offensive and defensive strategies.
Beyond the fundamental training, clinic participants will gain eligibility to enter the UA Basketball Combine Challenge. This competitive showcase offers young players a platform to test their newly acquired skills. The stakes are high: two standout performers, one male and one female from the Under 18 category, will be selected for an extraordinary, all-expenses-paid Under Armour Experience. This grand prize includes fully covered flights, hotel stays, and unforgettable basketball experiences, courtesy of Under Armour.
Clinic and Combine Challenge Dates and Locations:
The Under Armour X EST Jersey Nationwide Basketball Clinic and Combine Challenge will run over two days at each of the following venues:
- 17 & 18 May 2025 — Chung Ling High School, Penang
- 14 & 15 June 2025 — Tshung Tsin Secondary School, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
- 21 & 22 June 2025 — NBL Arena, Kuching, Sarawak
- 26 & 27 July 2025 — Bukit Tinggi Basketball Court, Selangor
- 2 & 3 August 2025 — MABA Stadium, Kuala Lumpur
Age Categories:
The clinic and combine challenge will accommodate up to 100 participants per location, divided into two youth categories:
- Category 1 (Under 12): Age 8 to 12 years old
- Category 2 (Under 18): Age 13 to 18 years old
Registration Details:
- Category 1 (Under 12): Fee: RM150 per participant. Includes 2 limited-edition Under Armour X EST Jersey T-shirts.
- Category 2 (Under 18): Fee: RM250 per participant. Includes 2 limited-edition Under Armour X EST Jersey T-shirts, an Under Armour backpack, and a headband.
Clinic and Combine Format:
- Day 1: Skills Training
- Session 1 (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM): Offense – Focusing on Stagger Screens, Pop Series, Screen Angles.
- Session 2 (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM): Defense – Covering Cross-step, Fighting Over Screens, Switching Defense, Shell Drills, Help and Recover.
- Day 2: Combine Challenge (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
- Players will participate in timed drills designed to assess their agility, strength, and coordination.
Prizes:
At each clinic location, one male and one female participant from the U18 category with the highest scores in the UA Basketball Combine Challenge will receive an exclusive Under Armour prize.
