Malaysia – Garmin Malaysia has officially introduced Garmin Pay, a secure and contactless payment solution, in partnership with Public Bank. This collaboration makes Public Bank the first financial institution in Malaysia to enable Garmin Pay, allowing cardmembers to link their Public Bank Visa or Mastercard credit and debit cards to compatible Garmin smartwatches for seamless, on-the-go transactions.

A New Era of Convenience
Garmin Pay empowers users to leave their wallets at home and make payments directly from their Garmin wearables. Whether fueling up after a run, grabbing groceries, or dining out, users can complete transactions with just a tap of their smartwatch.
To use Garmin Pay, users simply enter their passcode, select their preferred card from the Garmin Pay Wallet, and hold their wrist near a card reader. The process is quick, secure, and designed to fit the active lifestyles of Garmin users.
Partnership with Public Bank
Public Bank’s involvement marks a significant milestone in Malaysia’s digital payment landscape. Tan Sri Dr. Tay Ah Lek, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Public Bank, highlighted the partnership’s value: “Garmin Pay will further add value and convenience to our cardmembers with another digital payment option, especially for fitness enthusiasts.”
Jimmy Chuang, Country Manager of Garmin Malaysia, added, “We are thrilled to introduce Garmin Pay to our users in Malaysia. This partnership with Public Bank not only brings convenience but also demonstrates our commitment to delivering innovative solutions that simplify daily routines.”

Exclusive Promotions for Public Bank Cardmembers
To celebrate the launch, Public Bank is offering two exciting promotions:
- Cashback Rewards: From 21 January to 30 April 2025, Public Bank cardmembers who activate Garmin Pay and complete three retail transactions of at least RM80 each will receive a RM30 cashback.
- Discounts on Garmin Products: From 21 January to 31 December 2025, Public Bank cardmembers can enjoy 13% off or RM450 off the suggested retail price of selected Garmin products.

Security and Accessibility
Garmin Pay prioritizes user security with advanced safety measures, including watch-specific card numbers and unique transaction codes for every purchase. Card details are not stored on Garmin devices or servers, ensuring peace of mind for users.
The service is widely accepted at retailers and service providers nationwide, from cafes and supermarkets to fitness centers and convenience stores. Garmin Pay is compatible with both iOS and Android devices, and the Garmin Connect app is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
