World Of Sports & Columbia initiated 1st Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event for 2019.
The event “Clean Our Mountain” was held on the 13th July 2019 at Gunung Angsi, Seremban and was jointly organized by World Of Sports and Global Expenditure Club Malaysia helmed by Mr Ravichandran Tharumalingam (aka Ravi Everest) a professional mountaineer who has scaled Mount Everest himself.
Most mountains in our country have been abused with trash left behind by hikers such as water bottles, cigarette buds, diapers, left-over foods, torn shoes, etc. during their daily hikes. All these rubbish are non-biogradable and affect our eco system and habitats.
Through this event, Columbia hopes to educate the public to appreciate our nature by cleaning up the mountains. Columbia’s goal is to educate hikers to enjoy nature and help her by simply cleaning up rubbish left in the mountains. A simple and effective way to conserve and appreciate the beauty of our mountains at the same time.

The event started at 7.30am with briefing by Mr Ravichandran & representatives from Pejabat Hutan Kuala Pilah & Majlis Daerah Kuala Pilah on standard safety guidelines and the Do’s & Don’ts during the cleanup while hiking. All 48 volunteers from World of Sports (Columbia), Global Expenditure Club, Salam Hospital and the public reached the peak of Gunung Angsi around 10.15am before descending to the base at 12.30pm together with bags of rubbish. A total of 22.5kg of rubbish was collected during the half a day cleanup initiative.
World of Sports (Columbia) hopes to continue this program from time to time and cover other mountains in Malaysia.
