KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Garmin Malaysia has announced the release of the Venu X1, a new smartwatch model positioned with an ultrathin design and a 2-inch display. The Venu X1 is engineered to integrate advanced features into a sleek form factor, targeting consumers seeking a device that combines daily wearability with fitness and connectivity functions.
The Venu X1 incorporates a titanium caseback paired with a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, protecting an AMOLED display. The device measures 8mm in thickness. It also includes a built-in speaker and microphone, enabling users to manage calls directly from the wrist when paired with a compatible smartphone. Additionally, the smartwatch features an integrated LED flashlight, designed to enhance visibility in low-light conditions. Garmin states the Venu X1 offers up to 8 days of battery life in smartwatch mode.
Mr. Scoppen Lin, Assistant General Manager for Garmin Asia, commented on the product’s design and functionality. He noted that the Venu X1 aims to blend aesthetics with practical features, highlighting the display size for viewing preloaded maps, workout data, health insights, and notifications.
Design and Display Characteristics
The Venu X1’s design features a rectangular case with rounded corners, aiming for a contemporary aesthetic. The prominent 2-inch display is intended to provide clearer data readability and detailed map viewing. The device’s construction, utilizing a lightweight titanium caseback and a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, is designed for comfort during extended, all-day wear.
Users have the option to customize the built-in watch faces to display preferred data points, such as current step count, real-time heart rate, altitude, and training readiness scores. The smartwatch also supports more font sizes for notifications, aiming to improve readability. It comes with an included 24mm quick-release nylon band, which is designed for a comfortable and secure fit during continuous wear. The Venu X1 will be available in two color options: black and moss.
Integrated Connectivity and Utility Features
The Venu X1’s design for continuous wear extends to its utility features. The integrated LED flashlight can be controlled directly from the watch, providing a quick source of light for improved visibility in dark environments.
The inclusion of a built-in speaker and microphone allows for direct voice interaction capabilities. When the Venu X1 is paired with a compatible smartphone, users can initiate and receive calls from their wrist. This functionality also extends to using the phone’s voice assistant for tasks such as responding to text messages. For certain functions, such as starting a running activity or setting a timer, voice commands can be activated directly from the watch, even without a phone connection. This aims to provide a hands-free experience for common tasks.

The Garmin Venu X1 has a suggested retail price of RM3,479 in Malaysia. The smartwatch is scheduled to be available for order from mid-July.
Consumers will be able to purchase the Venu X1 through various channels, including Garmin’s official Malaysian website, Garmin Brand Stores, and major e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and Lazada. It will also be available at other authorized retailers across the country.
