Rising Star Max Poole Replaces Van Den Broek at LTdL 2024

Bukit Jalil – World Team DSM Firmenich PostNL has announced that British cycling prodigy Max Poole will replace Frank Van Den Broek at the upcoming Petronas Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2024.

Van Den Broek’s absence is due to his participation in the UCI World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland from September 21 to 29, representing his home country, the Netherlands.

Poole, a 21-year-old fearless climber, is set to make his debut for DSM Firmenich at LTdL 2024. Renowned for his ability to deliver high-level competition right up to the final sprint, he has recently impressed with four podium finishes in grand tour races, including the Vuelta a España. Additionally, he secured a second-place finish at the Vuelta a Burgos in Spain. Ranked 111th in the world, Poole hails from Scunthorpe, England.

Joining Poole in the DSM Firmenich lineup are Alex Edmondson (Australia), Niklas Märkl (Germany), Casper Van Uden (Netherlands), Bjoern Koerdt (Great Britain), and Johan Dorussen (Netherlands).

DSM Firmenich is poised to be a formidable contender among the 22 teams competing at LTdL 2024. With their balanced and talented roster, they are expected to challenge for both overall and stage victories. The team’s presence, along with two other World Teams, promises intense competition throughout the race.

The 1,190-kilometer race will feature the return of Langkawi Island to the route, as well as two new stages in the Sarawak cities of Miri and Bintulu.

The inclusion of Poole adds another dimension to the already exciting competition, as the three World Teams participating in this year’s LTdL are expected to deliver intense battles for both overall and stage victories.
